Every day, I wake up.
The same routine;
Either school or Internet;
Games or homework.
It’s all the same.
I sit here,
In the back of a car,
And realize something.
It doesn’t need to be perfect.
Not even unique to anyone.
It can be special to you.
Maybe you meet someone.
Maybe you do well.
It doesn’t matter.
As long as it matters to you.
I’m in a car ride,
A 2 hour one,
With my partner’s family.
It’s special to me.
Not because of anything outstanding.
No giant moments,
But I’m with this person.
I feel happy, not alone.
That’s rare.
Resting on this person,
I feel different.
No loneliness, no pain.
None of it is remembered.
It does matter.
I’m in the moment.
Enjoying their company
As I am on this ride.
I know something:
I don’t want to leave;
Don’t want it to end.
I’m content here.
That’s special to me.
Anything can be;
If you just let it.
