What principles define how you live?
I’ve had a lot of struggles throughout my life, but the biggest struggle has definitely been the battle within myself. I haven’t been the best person throughout my life thus far and spent the first 25 years of my life treating people in ways that were manipulative and wrong. I am working on those habits of having negative ways I treat others and myself by extension. I need to remind myself of that daily and have a wallpaper quote to remind myself to take a deep breath when I have an instinct to treat anyone that way ever again.
My current Principles are based on the lessons that I’ve learned over the years and my most recent experiences. I’m going to keep it to 2 main principles that spread to everything else in life:
- Honesty – Being honest about the way that you feel in the relationships that are important to me. Being honest about things for me used to mean sharing everything which has been very difficult for me. I’ve struggled a lot with figuring out that having boundaries doesn’t mean that you’re being dishonest, it means that there are going to be many different areas that you will be honest about the fact that you aren’t comfortable sharing that information. This can be for the sake of the relationship or individual people in it.
- Knowledge – Having knowledge of the world in the specific area of the world that you will enjoy. Everyone, I believe, should have an area of the world that they want to have strong knowledge of. For me, my special interests are wolves, astrology, and psychology. These things are some of the most important things for me to learn about and I find connection with many people through the knowledge base that I share with people.
