Backstory
2 years prior to the story of this specific post, Hunter was stolen from his adoptive mother by his abusive birth father. It is his adoptive brother Luke’s 18th birthday and all he wanted was for Hunter to find his way home again.
Current
Since Hunter had left, their family had moved into a nicer home that allowed Hunter to have his own room. They had unpacked all of his things with the hope that he would return. Everything was unpacked, and their dog Lucky slept in his room every night still.
When Luke woke up the next morning, Hunter had come to sleep in his room with a sleeping bag because of nightmares and not wanting to be alone after everything that had happened. While they were asleep, their mother didn’t get any at all. She had scheduled a meeting with Hunter’s old therapist, that he already trusted, with the hope that he would start talking about what happened. He had yet to say anything since being found.
The officers that had found Hunter wanted answers so that they could put his birth father in prison, but the new teenager was completely unable to speak anytime they would ask the mother. She made it clear her son would need time before he would say anything and that his therapist was the person he would tell, if anyone.
“Hey little bro, it’s breakfast time”
Hunter wakes up with confusion before realizing he’s home. Both his mom and brother had agreed that they wouldn’t ask what happened unless he gave them an opening. Luke turned 18 and was graduating high school in the coming weeks before finding his way.
Throughout the following week, Hunter had his first therapy appointment, doctor’s visit, and dental cleaning. No one specifically asked about what had happened, but it was on everyone’s mind. He barely said a word to anyone, but he didn’t try to hurt himself or anyone else.

It’s about a young boy that was adopted after being placed by a birth mother that was a drug addict and a birth father with domestic violence accusations. He had been kidnapped by his birth father using his adoptive brother’s truck after school one day.
