I’m not someone that has always been deeply involved in politics, but I definitely have leaned to the left ever since I understood what the different sides were and what they stood for. While I recognize that Trump was not a true republican, he was still on the right and pushing for policies I disagree with because of the people that funded his presidency on that side, as well as, his Vice President that was very religious and conservative republican. I don’t like every Democratic candidate, but I inherently support that platform more. I also believe that Trump made the nation look terrible on a foreign policy front because of the directness he acted with that wasn’t professional for his position.
I’m someone that believes in Universal Healthcare; I acknowledge that it isn’t perfect, but I think it’s better than the terrible system we have now. I believe in the right for a woman to have an abortion if she wants that decision. I think we need to make disability and other services have less time to get for those that need it, even if it occasionally means that someone gets access that shouldn’t. I would rather some people get it that don’t need it than a mother of 3 not have access for weeks because of paperwork.
